Personally, I want my text editor to be old, tried & tested and relatively bug free and have a large active user community. You can't even change the font without getting the command for changing the preference from the FAQ on their site. ST2 is so raw that you don't even have standard preferences and you have to edit poorly documented preference files. Problem with all these new text editors is that they're extremely raw and buggy. Switched to that from TM? I seriously question their decision making abilities. Still currently in beta, but most of the people I know who still used TextMate have since switched to using Sublime. I don't really want to make this thread into an emacs-vs.-vim one but I am curious to know. language-specific plugins) as emacs? The main reason I started sniffing around emacs was just that most of the demos for Clojure & Haskell I come across are done in emacs I have the impression that vim doesn't have the same level of code integration (or org-mode! ) but am I wrong? Does vim have the same range of 'modes' (i.e. Vim was the first 'real' text editor I ever used and the power of the modal system definitely appeals to me. Well - a bunch of suggestions for the same thing.ДЄs I haven't properly learned either yet, maybe it's not too late for me to make the switch to the Vim side of the emacs/vim holy war (no way am I remembering two sets of commands!). While I think I will push through this eventually, I thought it would be interesting to see what the 'state-of-the-art' is at the moment anyway. I'm considering sucking it up and going emacs fulltime but I'm still growing my neckbeard and it's frustrating to have to remember the commands for my editor to be able to try to learn a new language. As much code integration as possible would be nice (run script, autocomplete, a REPL if possible). TextMate's packages are an appealing concept but I haven't ever used them so I can't miss them. I've heard of a few up-and-comers like Chocolat ( ) but I certainly don't know of them all. I also understand TextMate is the 800 pound gorilla, but it may or may not be dead (which may or may not actually matter). I get the vibe that BBEdit is well loved but is mostly geared towards HTML/CSS which isn't perfect for me - I don't know if it has multilingual support. I futz around in Python, a little HTML/CSS and regularly dip my toes into assorted other languages just for a play (clojure, haskell etc). I've tried TextMate, TextWrangler, Smultron (way back in the day) they're all OK. I've been spending enough time dabbling with code that it's time to pony up for a decent text editor.

If you want to dig even deeper into WindowsвЂ™ snapping features, you can do so with Microsoft PowerToys, which unlocks a load of extra customisability aimed at Windows 10 power users.

So Win + right arrow will snap to the right edge of your first screen, then just do the same again to move it over to the left edge of the second screen, and so on. When you see the snap outline appear for that window, you can let go of the mouse button and it will snap to the edge or corner of the screen.ДЄlternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcuts under the previous heading to snap windows freely between your two screens. The solution is to drag the window /slowly/ to the edge of the first screen.

Of course, thatвЂ™s fine if you want to snap your windows on the second screen anyway, but what about snapping to the first screen with a dual-monitor setup? If youвЂ™re using two monitors, then youвЂ™ll find that when you drag a window over to the edge of the screen it will be pulled over to your second screen instead of snapping to the edge of the first one.
